Being a teacher is often a difficult and thankless job. As shown in the video below, it can be extremely difficult to get through to students.
At the same time, can you blame kids for being so easily distracted? They're all hormones, they can hardly sit still, and they have to deal with all of the different pressures that exist in the real world and now, online!
Kids have it tough, and the teachers who want the best for them have got it pretty tough, too. You never really know if you're getting through to a young person or if students can even relate to their teachers, because there's no way to quantify a person's character until they're forced to make a hard decision.
The teacher in the below video had exactly that experience with his students: He had no idea if they were paying attention during the hustle and bustle of what seemed like a fun project. He had all of his students make paper airplanes with special notes on them, and while most students were happy to participate, a couple just weren't taking the project seriously.
He was probably left wondering if he'd had any impact at all on those students. Two years later, though, that question was answered in a highly emotional moment.
