Ted Williams was born in New York City and served three years in the United States Army.
He then went to school for voice acting, but soon after he fell into a deep addiction to drugs and alcohol. He became homeless and a petty criminal.
But one fateful day everything changed… Williams was holding up a sign asking for donations in exchange for voiceovers. A videographer of the Columbus Dispatch named Doral Chenoweth happened by.
Chenoweth recorded a video of Williams' speaking and he soon became known as the man with the "golden voice."
His entire life changed in an instant. After his video went viral, the job offers poured in. He snagged a deal with Kraft Foods, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and plenty of radio shows.
Williams began to live a sober life and, with a rekindled faith, success has followed him since.
So many folks doubt homeless people when they are often just like us, only with a few more obstacles. Trameka Pope, a homeless teen, was called a waste of time by a teacher — now she's valedictorian.
Anyone who doubted Ted Williams is now eating crow.
However, there was one piece missing from the puzzle: his mother. Williams hadn't seen his mom in 20 years. After he became a transient they lost touch and his mom was simply left to pray for him.
Watch the video to see the moment he and his mom reunite after two decades.
