I love pineapple — but I'm known for foregoing the full fruit in favor of the pre-cut slices at the grocery store. Why? Because I have no idea how to cut a pineapple and shouldn't be trusted to do so, that's why. But I shall fear not! Because this awesome, easy-to-understand two-minute episode of the "Cooking With Jack Show" just taught me not only how to pick the perfect pineapple, but also cut it the most efficient way, with the option of creating pineapple rings.
Did you know? The word "pineapple" dates all the way back to 1398 (!) when it was used to describe the reproductive organs of conifer trees, or pine cones as we know them today. It was only when European explorers discovered this delicious tropical fruit in the Americas that the name "pineapples" was born. Cool!
