While you can never really know what to expect from talent shows, what happens in this next video is definitely a first for me!
Meet John Andrew Quale…and his outlandish, eccentric, extraordinarily amazing stage persona, Prince Poppycock. Just like when "Eugene the Librarian" fooled the judges on Britain's Got Talent, Poppycock had the judges seriously confused when he walked onstage.
When it comes to talent shows, we've seen time and time again that you really can't "judge a book by its cover," because you're probably going to get just the opposite!
However, I have to admit that when I first saw Poppycock walk on the America's Got Talent stage for the following audition, I kind of rolled my eyes. How can you not? His costume might be fabulous, but it makes him look completely off his rocker!
As you will see below, all it took was a few seconds of Prince Poppycock's performance before the audience and judges fell hard for his unconventional act. You need the talent to back up a crazy act like his — and he definitely nailed it.
Although Prince Poppycock didn't end up winning the show's fifth season, he came really close for such a daring act. Check out his first audition and you might just find yourself clapping along, too!
