Most people will agree: Stealing isn't a smart thing to do, regardless of how desperate one is for food or money. Stealing, even if it's just a few dollars or a bag of chips, is against the law, and if you get caught, you're likely to pay for your crime in an appropriate way.
But what if someone tries to get away with his crime, when it is very, very obvious what the crime is?
People are baffled by footage released by the Northamptonshire Police: It shows a thief walking out of a store, with an object sticking through his hoodie and down his pants.
The object? Seven-foot-wide Venetian blinds! How did the man think he was going to get away with this one?
The man reportedly tried to exit the store, and wasn't stopped because people — customers and employees alike — thought he was joking. They realized he wasn't when he went outside, and that's when they chased him. He dropped the blinds and ran away.
Now, Northamptonshire Police are looking for the culprit, having posted his photos on their website. Perhaps, for the criminal, this is the most embarrassing part!

The thief tried to exit the store very casually, and onlookers were highly amused by his appearance, thinking that this was some kind of joke.
When they realized that it wasn't, they chased him until he ditched the blinds and ran away.
Now, people are poking fun at the would-be criminal, wondering what he could have possibly been thinking at the time!
