72-Year-Old Dancer Makes Young Students Roar With Her Impressive Moves In The Studio

Talent for dancing is something that not only takes a lot of practice, but also a natural flair for rhythm and routines.

That's something singer and dancer Toni Basil has clearly proven she possess over her decades in the entertainment industry. She got her start at a young age as an assistant choreographer for the popular musical variety series Shindig! back in 1964.

From there, Basil was hired by countless television shows and movies to provide some fancy footwork, like her charming ballroom duet with the Monkees singer Davy Jones in the band's 1968 feature-length film.

However, she is most remembered for her 1981 hit single "Mickey," which included the unforgettable video of Basil and her backup dancers donning cheerleading uniforms and performing their routine with pom-poms.

Now at 72 years old, she doesn't seem to be slowing down one bit! In the 1970s, Basil became a founding member of a group known as the Lockers. Their mission was to bring street dancing techniques into studios and show venues by blending the moves with classic ballet steps.

As you can see in the recent example of Basil strutting her stuff for a group of youngsters, her skills are just as fluid as ever as she glides across the floor. All of the workshop students are clearly in awe as they whoop and holler for the iconic entertainer.

Take a look to see how she teaches them a thing or two.
