The Wildlife Aid organization has just about seen it all in their decades of saving animals from critical situations, but in the past 35 years they say this is one of the most difficult and dangerous rescues they've ever attempted.
A family heard crying in the night and discovered that a baby deer had wandered away from his family and fell into a deep, narrow gap between their shed and a brick wall. The scared fawn was trapped 12 feet below the ground in an area only 10 inches wide. It would be impossible, and otherwise extremely dangerous, for a person to cascade down to help the terrified deer.
They only had ONE chance to save the deer and if anything were to go wrong the baby would definitely get hurt or killed! It wasn't easy, but after several attempts, rescuers were able to lasso the fawn securely and raise him to safety. This was definitely one of those situations you would never expect to happen, but of course it did. Thank goodness the little one got out unharmed!
