As someone with one of the most popular baby names from my generation, I've always wished my parents had picked something a little more unique.

If you were alive in the 1950s and share one of the names listed below, you were definitely less likely to see another kid in your class with the same one. In some cases, you were probably also one of the trendsetters who made names like #14 so common today!

According to information on the official Social Security website, the most popular names for boys and girls in the 1950s were James and Mary. All of the ones listed here, however, rank at the very bottom of 1,000 names recorded during the decade.
