The holidays are an extremely busy time of year for Union Station in Washington DC. It's a hustling, bustling train station that's packed full of travelers in a hurry. And that’s exactly why the members of the United States Air Force Band wanted to kick off the holiday season with a phenomenal surprise that had passers-by slowing down and enjoying the moment.
In this awesome new video, you’ll see a woman in red emerge from the crowd, banging on a pair of drumsticks. The second she hands the sticks over to an drumming army man, a flash mob breaks out right there in the middle of the train station, and people can't help but gather around to watch the magic before them. Singers, dancers and musicians perform an epic and nostalgic routine straight out of the WWII era. The USAF Band describes it as a performance that is "celebrating the service and sacrifices of our nation's World War II veterans and commemorating the 70th anniversary of the end of the war."
The dance troupe hails from NYC and is choreographed by Jessica Hartman. The performance also features a cameo appearance by Secretary of the Air Force, Deborah Lee James.
