Vanna White Already Knows The ‘Perfect Person’ To Take Over For Her When She Retires

Vanna White's Wheel of Fortune contract was extended for two more years, but she already has the "perfect person" in mind to replace her once she leaves the show. The 66-year-old cohost has been in her role on the show, beside Pat Sajak, since 1982.

In June 2023, Pat announced his departure from the show after more than four decades. The 41st season, which is the current one, marks his last season on the show. With Pat leaving, many wondered what the show held for Vanna's future. And while she isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and will cohost with Ryan Seacrest starting in 2024, she does in fact already know who she wants to take over from her once she does leave.

It appears that Vanna wants to keep things in the family. Her "perfect person" in mind is Pat's daughter, Maggie Sajak.

“I think she’s a good replacement if I can’t be there for some reason,” she shared with Francesca Amiker from E! News during an interview. “She’s been around it her whole life, so I think she can fill in for me for sure.”

Maggie already serves as the show's social correspondent, and even filled in for Vanna in May during a game of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. “She’s precious, she’s beautiful, she’s very good,” Vanna said. “I think she learned a lot from her father because he’s such a good interviewer. I think she’s good for our show."
