A Vietnam veteran said it felt like "a kick in the stomach" and "the ultimate insult" when he realized one morning that his American flag had been stolen from his front porch.
The story began when the son of Army veteran John Miller heard that someone had dared to steal his father's flag. The son then decided to post in his local Craiglist's "Lost and Found" section, calling the whole affair "a senseless act." Not expecting to get the flag back, he felt the need to express his utter disgust at this terrible crime.
"Why would somebody do that?" the steely-faced veteran said to local news cameras. While some people don't mind stealing the valor of our brave soldiers, like the man who pretended to be an Army soldier to get an in-store discount, many people are left wondering why would someone want to steal an American flag and not steal anything else.
Miller remains utterly confused as to why someone would have done this, "I hope they never get in a situation where they have to defend it like the veterans had to defend it. It's easier to steal one than earn one," he said dejectedly.
Though his own flag is still missing, the veteran's story quickly went viral, and you won't believe what happened next — check it out in the video below!
