When Tessica Brown ran out of her favorite hairspray, she decided to try an alternative in an effort to keep her hair perfectly in place.
Instead of her normal product, the Louisiana woman used a coat of industrial-strength Gorilla Glue on her hair … unaware of the super-sticky consequences.
Tessica never imagined the ordeal she was about to endure.
In a now-viral TikTok video, Tessica showed her followers the extent to which her hardened hair refused to budge, even after 15 washes. The glue had literally bonded to her scalp.
Nothing worked to remove the Gorilla Glue — not cooking oil, not baby oil, not even acetone wipes.
Tessica enlisted one of her friends to help her remove her ponytail, and that alone took four hours!
Gorilla Glue responded to Tessica's story, reminding the public that its product is not meant to be used on hair.
Still, as Tessica's ordeal went viral, she experienced an outpouring of compassion and sympathy from people all over the country.
Luckily, Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Obeng was able to help. Tessica underwent a procedure to dissolve the glue under light anesthesia.
