Knitting is a fabulous activity. It doesn’t require too much attention, so while you’re just chilling out and gabbing with friends, watching TV, or listening to music you’re also being productive by fabricating something that is an extension of your creativity.
Knitting used to be something that only old biddies with nothing better to do did, but now people from all walks of life — hipsters on the subway, savvy crafters on the internet, Kate Middleton — are employing their cross-stitch skills. Even prisoners!
Which, when you think about it, makes a lot of sense. The activity is relaxing, meditative even, and can put you in a very serene and happy mood.
Lynn Zwerling, a woman from Jessup, MD, has done what many may have thought was impossible. She has helped felons who were arrested for armed kidnapping and attempted murder fall in love with yarn — and this story is anything but a yawn!
It will actually melt your heart and make you rethink the way we treat and rehabilitate felons.
