Young Marine Reunites With Girl He Saved From Drowning

Young Marine Christian Lozano is a perfect example of what every 16-year-old should strive to be. The selfless teenage was having a normal day at the beach, surfing with his friends off of the California Coast when he suddenly heard a distant cry for help.

He looked around, trying to locate where the screams were coming from, when suddenly he saw a little hand waving, splashing up and down in the rolling ocean. Immediately taking action, he grabbed his board and began to sprint straight towards the person in need.

"I saw a little hand come up, so I didn't think about it. I instantly just grabbed my board and took off running to the water," said Lozano.

The 20-foot waves didn't stop him, and when he finally came to the victim, he saw a scared, but very much alive, 11-year-old Maya Harding struggling to stay above the water. He grabbed her, and the two worked together to paddle back to shore.

Lozano's selfless act is making waves all around the country. His humble attitude, calm demeanor, and all-around "nice guy" way of carrying himself has won the hearts of his whole community. In a world filled with so many dark stories, we're very happy that this one ends on a happy note.

Hopefully this young Marine will give serious consideration to joining up with the Marine Corps once he's old enough, we're sure he'd be a great addition to our nation's corps!
