When I was a freshman in college, there were two other girls in my dorm who looked kind of like me, in that we all had the same haircut. People confused the three of us constantly, and, let me tell you, the novelty wore off around the third or fourth surprise hug.
But every now and then, you hear an outlandish story about something more substantial coming from these cases of mistaken identity, like the strange story of these two sets of mixed-up twins in Colombia. It is always possible that there is someone out there walking around with a face just like yours.
They don’t even have to be your long-lost twin. Sometimes, you have a lookalike who isn’t related to you at all, as 23-year-old Amanda Fisher discovered when friends started sending her Instagram pictures of a girl who looked exactly like her.
At first, Amanda was skeptical, assuming that the mystery girl would bear a passing resemblance at best. When she started looking through other girl’s pictures, though, she started to feel a little spooked by the crazy coincidence.
Unable to contact her doppelganger on Instagram, Fisher began posting side-by-side comparisons on the photo-sharing site Imgur, in the hopes of tracking down the mystery girl. Eventually, helpful netizens pointed her in the direction of Meredith Pond, a woman living in Muncie, Indiana—nearly a thousand miles from Fisher’s home in Frisco, Texas.

Amanda told BuzzFeed that, "I get told quite often that I look like Zooey Deschanel or Katy Perry, so I figured it was probably someone that had a slight resemblance like I do with them." Maybe all four women are doppelgängers?
