13 Rescued Bears Experience Freedom For The Very First Time

All over the country, there are wild animals being unrightfully kept as pets by people who clearly do not care for the well-being of these creatures.

The Ohio Dangerous Wild Animal Act, recently passed, protects wild animals like tigers, bears, and lions from being kept in captivity. Yet, like every other law, there are some people who choose to break it.

Roadside zoos keep these poor creatures in tiny, dirty, disease-infested cages while the owners make a profit from their suffering. Bears are a very common victim of this fate.

These bears usually have mangled teeth, as to make it less likely that handlers will get bitten while the bears try to defend themselves from their captors. They're also often declawed, and almost always sick in one way or another. Some are emaciated, while others are extremely overweight. Some have intestinal parasites, while others have to live in cages just inches larger than their bodies.

For 13 lucky bears, that terrible fate was about to take a turn for the best.

When these bears were taken from these terrible lives, they were taken to The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado.

They're first released into large enclosures, where they can get used to their new, healthier, happier environment. But soon enough, they'll be able to wander the vast acreage of Colorado wilderness, as bears are supposed to do.

Just wait until you see who's come alone with some of these adult bears…

Please SHARE with your family and friends on Facebook if you're glad these bears got the happy ending they deserve!
