Abandoned, Injured Baby Donkey Won’t Stop Following Woman, So She Takes Her Home

A 6-day-old donkey who was found alive but close to death, in a wash, is now recovering thanks to Good Samaritans, rescuers, and vets.

A woman and her son were taking a walk when they noticed the baby all by herself, with a ghastly wound to her neck. She looked like she needed help. The woman had no problem luring her out of the area: the donkey wouldn't stop following her, even up to her apartment!

Once the woman had the donkey securely in her apartment kitchen, she called for help. Rescuer Annie Brown, with the Arizona Equine Rescue Organization, rushed to the apartment, loaded the donkey into her SUV, and took it to the Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center.

Annie says that if she hadn't rushed over right away, the donkey would have likely died. It seemed like her condition was that bad.

Now, thanks to all those who were involved in the rescue, the donkey, which they've named Chloe, is in good hands and is on the mend. She still has a tough road ahead of her, and rescuers aren't sure why she was totally alone, but they're hoping that she will be adopted soon.

In the meantime, she was paired with a mother donkey and is nursing to her heart's content!

Please if you're glad this precious animal is now safe and sound in the hands of good people!
