It's hard to be a senior dog at the animal shelter, seeing all the younger animals come and go. The chances for an older dog to get adopted are not as good as those of a puppy… and the chances for a disabled senior dog to get adopted are slim to none.
However, miracles truly do happen, just like with the story of Spunky, a senior dog who has almost completely lost his sight. The 15-year-old dog was not taken care of by his owners before he was heartlessly dumped at a shelter. There was almost no hope for this special needs canine, until they realized that his cataracts could be corrected.
After a successful surgery, Spunky was feeling younger than he had in years. He had his energy back and even found the perfect forever home with Michelle – a woman who had cataracts and couldn't see very well, just like Spunky. Now the pair are inseparable, proving there is a perfect companion out there for everyone!
