Honest Review Of ‘Demonic’ Chihuahua Who ‘Hates Men More Than Women Do’ Wins Internet

Not all dogs are alike. While some are the sweetest, cuddliest, most loving creatures you've ever met, others are harder to cozy up to. That doesn't mean they aren't worthy of being loved, of course. It just means they need the right home.

That much is evident after a review of one New Jersey pup in foster care went mega viral in 2021. The dog, a Chihuahua named Prancer, was given a brutally honest review, and it's actually pretty hilarious.

Prancer's foster mom, Tyfanee Fortuna, wanted to make sure anyone seeking to adopt the dog knew what they were getting into. She also seemed to want to air her frustrations about the "demonic" pooch a bit.

She started off her hilarious post by saying that she's been trying to find the right words to describe Prancer, but it had really been somewhat of a massive struggle. "I’ve tried for the last several months to post this dog for adoption and make him sound…palatable," she writes. LOL. Already, we know we're in for a real treat.

Then she starts to detail Prancer's less-than-stellar qualities. And she doesn't hold back: "There’s not a very big market for neurotic, man hating, animal hating, children hating dogs that look like gremlins. But I have to believe there’s someone out there for Prancer, because I am tired and so is my family."

She continues, "Every day we live in the grips of the demonic Chihuahua hellscape he has created in our home. If you own a Chihuahua you probably know what I’m talking about. He’s literally the Chihuahua meme that describes them as being 50% hate and 50% tremble. If you’re intrigued and horrified at how this animal sounds already, just wait….there’s more."

We've got to give this foster mom some credit. Not only is she being honest, she's found a way to be utterly hilarious at the same time. More than that, she's doing the very selfless job of fostering this dog, even though it hasn't really been a walk in the park.

Chihuahuas are kind of an acquired taste in the first place. But Prancer seems to be one of a kind.

"Prancer came to me obese, wearing a cashmere sweater, with a bacon egg n cheese stuffed in his crate with him," the description continues. "I should have known in that moment this dog would be a problem. He was owned by an elderly woman who treated him like a human and never socialized him. Sprinkle in a little genetic predisposition for being nervous, and you’ve concocted a neurotic mess, AKA Prancer. His first week he was too terrified to have a personality. As awful as it sounds, I kind of liked him better that way."

Another itty-bitty issue with Prancer is that he hates men: "Prancer only likes women. Nothing else. He hates men more than women do, which says a lot. If you have a husband don’t bother applying, unless you hate him. Prancer has lived with a man for 6 months and still has not accepted him. He bonds to a woman/women, and takes his job of protection seriously. He offers better protection than capitol security."

The foster mom does mention some good traits that Prancer has, too. She says that he is incredibly loyal. She also notes that he's only 2 years old and will probably live until he's around the age of 21, "out of pure spite." But she does seem to have a soft spot for the pup, after all. "He also 'smiles' when he is excited. His ideal home would be with a single woman, a mother and daughter, or a lesbian couple," she says.

Amazingly, Prancer has gotten so much attention since the viral review! And it's been good attention, too. People are reaching out in hopes of being the best fit for Prancer, which really shows you how good people are. Even though this dog is far from perfect, people really just want an animal to give their love to.

Prancer's post has been shared over 59,000 times. Stephanie Pearl, a representative for the Second Chance Pet Adoption League, told Today, "We have had lots of lovely well-meaning people inquiring, and we hope that every one of them goes to their local shelter or rescue and opens their home to a needy dog like Prancer … well maybe not just like Prancer, but there are so many homeless dogs in need."

Foster mom Tyfanee's post concludes, "Prancer is available through Second Chance Pet Adoption League. He is in New Jersey but can be adopted anywhere in the general tri state area.
