The Trump administration has made threats against another TV program, just days after President Donald Trump celebrated the cancelation of Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show. Now, the White House is targeting The View, seemingly because Joy Behar said Trump is jealous of former President Barack Obama. According to Entertainment Weekly, White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers suggested the show could “be pulled off air” if Behar doesn’t change her ways.
On the July 23, 2025, episode of The View, Behar listed several reasons Trump appears to be jealous of Obama. “He’s so jealous of Obama, because Obama is everything that he is not: Trim, smart, handsome, happily married, and can sing Al Green’s song ‘Let’s Stay Together’ better than Al Green,” she said. She added that “Trump cannot stand it” and “it’s driving him crazy.”
After the episode aired, the White House called Behar “an irrelevant loser suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome” in a statement Entertainment Weekly published.
The White House spokesperson also suggested that Behar is the one who’s jealous — of Trump. “It’s no surprise that The View’s ratings hit an all-time low last year,” the statement read. “She should self-reflect on her own jealousy of President Trump’s historic popularity before her show is the next to be pulled off-air.”

The ominous statement comes not long after Colbert announced that CBS made the decision to cancel his show. Though the network said it was “purely a financial decision,” the timing raised questions. Prior to the announcement, Colbert had criticized Paramount’s settlement with Trump. Trump also celebrated the decision on Truth Social and threatened that Jimmy Kimmel might be “next.”
On July 18, Trump wrote: “I absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert!”
