What happens when your kids outgrow that pricey playhouse you built them in your backyard?

Once this DIY-er's kids grew disinterested with their backyard playhouse, it sat in the backyard for a while, awaiting a new fate.
This DIY-er didn't want to simply discard this perfectly good playhouse, but also didn't just want it to sit dormant in his yard indefinitely.
He decided to transform this jungle gym into a different kind of playhouse, suited less to kids and more to cats.
Adding an awesome ladder for his cats to climb, all sorts of different ledges, and even a lofted lookout, he turned this tired playhouse into an awesome kitty hangout pad.
Thanks to their dad's creativity, these adorable cats now have their very own playground, sure to keep them busy and fit for years to come.

Recently, Imgur DIY-er JosephKoziol's kids outgrew their backyard playhouse.
Not one to just leave a beauty like this withering away from neglect, this DIY-er decided to breathe new purpose into his old jungle gym.
He turned this playhouse into a hangout for his cats!
First, he installed a cat ladder, so these little cuties would be able to climb all throughout their hangout with ease.
He also added a human-sized door, so he too could join in the fun every once in a while.
The door also makes cleaning the hangout much easier.
By cutting a hole into the playhouse's floor, he was able to reconfigure the space's layout.
To ensure his cats would have all sorts of different spots to explore in their new hangout, he added a little nested loft area to the playhouse's peak.
Underneath the highest loft, he added all sorts of other little lookout points, each offering a spectacular view of the property below.
He added fencing in all of the windows, to dissuade predators from infiltrating the cool hangout space.
Additionally, the fencing protects the cats from falling out the structure.
Now, these cats have an awesome play space all their own outside in the yard.
When his kids outgrew their backyard playhouse, this upcycler transformed it into a wonderland for his cats to enjoy for years and years.
