Dog With Cancer Refused To Die—Until She Had THIS Moment With Dad

"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." ― Dr. Seuss

In 2012, Jennifer's husband left for deployment. Soon after, their 11-year-old dog Kermie was diagnosed with cancer of the mouth. She was given mere months to live. To make matters worse, the family didn't think Kermie would ever see Eric again.

Jennifer and her boys did whatever they could to keep Kermie as healthy and comfortable as possible, so that Eric and Kermie could be reunited before she passed. It's as if Kermie knew the reason she needed to keep going; she hung on.

A few days before Christmas, Jennifer received news that Eric was finally coming home. The cameras were rolling as Eric and Kermie embrace, and it's enough to make me cry.

Jennifer says, "We thought we would be putting Kermie down within days of his return. His return was some sort of magic pill for her. She began eating and drinking again, without struggle! Watching the homecoming video, you cannot even see the struggles of the previous months. Kermie lived to see her 12th birthday in January, but things began to go downhill again in February. It was back to hand-feeding her. She still enjoyed doing her tricks, walks, and rides, but the tumor was making her miserable in between. When good days became good hours, and we knew it was time."

I'm so glad Jennifer and her family were able to experience this amazing moment. This may be a simple, short video but it's clear to see that Kermie was surrounded by love and family to the very end. If you agree, please SHARE this video with your friends on Facebook.
