If you own a cat and a dog, then you know their relationship can be tough to balance.
Some animals immediately take to each other, becoming best friends from the moment they first meet.
Others, usually older cats, take a while to warm up to newcomers. Every time a new kitten or puppy arrived at my house, our one cat, Jeremy, was very vocal about not being a fan. Then a month later, we'd find him snuggled up to the kitten or puppy! He might have started out cranky, but he always came around.
No matter how long animals may have known each other, there are still moments when a cat can shock a dog and vice versa. For Cherie Priest's furry brood, this happened to one of her dogs.
Cherie snapped a series of photos in which her dog, Lucy, realized that she was outnumbered by the cats in the room. The pooch had been taking a nap. When she woke up, she was surprised to discover her surroundings. Her expressive face clearly conveys exactly how she is feeling at that very moment, and it is too funny! Haven't we all been there?
Meet Lucy, a blue-eyed beauty that Cherie and her husband fell in love with when they saw her at a pet store in 2016 while buying cat litter.
Lucy is part of Cherie's happy animal family. In photo order: To the left is Quinn, a gray and white cat that was found inside a car when she was a kitten. Next to Quinn is Greyson, a 5-year-old Great Pyrenees mix that Cherie and her husband adopted. Beside Greyson is Spain, a cat who came into Cherie's life 15 years ago. Spain is now 19 and mostly deaf, but she is the ruler of the house. Finally, Lucy, who most recently joined the crew!
One day, Cherie was at home with her furry crew when Lucy had a startling realization: she was outnumbered! She likes to wedge herself in the space by the ottoman for a nap, and on this day, when she woke up, there were cats on both sides.
Though she has an older doggy brother named Greyson, she was suddenly surrounded by felines. Spain, the older cat, and 15-pound kitty Quinn were watching her.
She looked left, then right, and finally directly at the camera, almost like she was on a sitcom! Cherie shared the series of photos in a post on Twitter, which got hundreds of thousands of likes.
Don't worry, though! Lucy gets along great with Quinn, whom Cherie calls a "house leopard" due to her size. The whole animal family gets along great; they look like the perfect set of cuddle buddies!
Lucy and Quinn enjoy playing, Cherie told LittleThings. "She even likes to wrestle and play chase with Quinnie, who's about 15-plus pounds and roughly the same age, and always down for a good rough-and-tumble time."
We're not sure who is lecturing whom in this video: Lucy or Spain? Who do you think got the final word? Let us know in the comments, and please SHARE with your family and friends on Facebook!
