3 Baby Ducks Slumber Peacefully In Their Favorite Human’s Arms

These three-and-a-half-week-old ducklings — the definition of fuzzy perfection — are just exhausted from being so adorable.

Who can blame them? I think I’d be so overwhelmed with my own cuteness that I wouldn’t be able to handle it! Their coping mechanism, then, is to be even cuter and fall right asleep in their human owner’s arms.

When these ducklings get a little bit older (and can stay awake for a little bit longer), they can look forward to finding brand new ways to stay cute — like learning how to swim. Clear the kiddie pool… or have the kids stay in it if you want them to adorably swim with the ducklings!

Maybe these ducklings will even make friends with other animals, like these ducklings did with some huge dogs!

On a serious note, if you find an orphaned duckling, there are steps you can take to protect the defenseless animal. Call a vet right away if the duckling appears sick or injured.

If it is not sick or injured, but has no family in sight, you can temporarily house it in a cardboard box or plastic tub (with no lid on either), and line it with paper towels. Keep the duckling warm by placing a desktop lamp nearby — keeping the temperature between 75 and 80 °F, and provide food like bread crumbs, cottage cheese, or hard-boiled eggs until you can buy duck feed. Then, contact an animal sanctuary to provide long-term care for the duck!
