Nebraska Firefighters Help Rescue 120-Pound Great Dane From A Tree

We like to think of our pets as the smartest, cutest, most amazing animals on the planet. Even when they get on our nerves now and then, we can't help but love their silly faces. They can also be pretty sneaky, especially when it comes to trying to steal our food or chow down on our favorite pair of shoes. But their sly ways can get them into even bigger trouble than our stern talking-to when they find themselves in unfortunate predicaments like the pup in the clip below.

I've seen dogs get stuck in some frustrating situations, like the mama dog who refused to leave her little babies' side when they found shelter under a shed. There are even some examples of pups in need of rescue from trees, but that usually means they've dug themselves deep into the roots rather than making their way up off the ground.

When Wes McGurk called for help getting his pup Kora out of a tree, the dispatcher thought someone was messing with them. They've heard of cats in need of assistance, of course, but couldn't believe it when McGurk explained that Kora was a 120 lbs. Great Dane. The goofy girl climbed her way high up into the thick branches and refused to budge once she got there. McGurk attempted climbing up and coaxing her down, but when that didn't work, he knew he needed to call in some better reinforcements.

Take a look below to see how the crew finally manages to get the pooch back on solid ground.
