August 24, 2016 was a devastating day for central Italy as a massive earthquake wreaked havoc on the area, taking more than 250 lives. Homes have crumbled and family members have been lost. It's a day that will be remembered with a heavy heart for years and years to come, especially for those that were there to experience it.
Can you imagine this happening in your hometown? It's hard to fully understand what these folks are going through right now.
Throughout the devastation, and in the midst of searching for survivors amongst the rubble, there have also been some heartwarming moments caught on camera. These are some moments that will still make you smile.
One puppy named Vipera has survived the whole mess, as have her pet-parents. While her humans are off helping to clean the rubble, though, she still needs someone to comfort her, as she is just a scared pup and doesn't understand that everything is alright now.
This very cheery man has taken it upon himself to keep this puppy as comfy as possible. You can tell that if she didn't already have loving parents, that he'd scoop her up in a millisecond.
Although the damage done to Italy has been tragic, and it's important to keep those who have suffered in our hearts, it's also so important to see small moments of humanity like this one.
