An Old Dog Makes His Last Agility Run After A 10-Year Career

We've all felt the pains of growing old. As we grow older, our muscles get achy, our joints get sore, and our skin gets wrinkles and sunspots.

But our muscles are achy from all the days we spent walking in the sand or climbing mountains. Our joints are sore from all the early morning runs we've gone on, slamming our heels onto the hard pavement. Our skin gets wrinkled from laughing at hilarious jokes, from smiling, and from squinting at the sun. In addition to these pains and aging in or bodies, we carry memories both good and bad. With time comes wisdom, and the ability to look back on our fondest moments.

This pup clearly has tons of wonderful memories to look back on. After a 10-year-long career as a competitive agility dog, Lakota took his very last run in an AKC competition. Australian shepherds truly do love agility training, as they're full of energy and love to please their owners. Weaving around poles and darting through tunnels at top speeds are probably the times that an Australian shepherd will be at his or her happiest.

The look on Lakota's face and the spring he still has in his step after years of competing in the sport are enough to bring tears to your eyes. What a full life this dog has lived, with such a loving trainer by his side.
