A Mysterious Man Named Andrew Left A Lovely Note On A Parked Car

I always love to hear about random acts of kindness. It warms my heart to know that there are so many people out there noticing those around them, and doing what they can to brighten someone’s day!

For example, this incredible story about Oklahoma residents giving back to their postal workers really made my day. The only way to top that is by adding a healthy dose of activism to the mix.

That’s exactly what happened this past week to a resident of Austin, TX. He left his car in a parking lot while he ran some errands, and returned to find a five bucks and a nice note from a stranger named Andrew, inviting him to “buy a beer on me.”

That generosity didn’t just come out of thin air, though. Apparently, the mysterious benefactor overheard the car’s owner warning a fellow driver against leaving a pet dog locked in the car, and was impressed by his proactive consideration for the pup.

Along with the note and the five-dollar bill, he also left a wristband, designed to raise awareness about the very real dangers of leaving your dog behind when you go on an errand. The rubber bracelet lists a few important stats that everyone should know, which you can see pictured below.

If you think this is an important issue for people to know about, please celebrate this man's good deed, and SHARE with your friends to raise awareness!

Here's what the Austin, TX resident came back to.

The note reads:

"Hey! When I pulled up I saw that you were telling someone that they shouldn't leave their dog in the car while they went to the post office. I think that is AWESOME! Just wanted to say thanks and here is a wristband & $5.00 to buy a beer on me. -Andrew"

The wristbands cropped up on sharing site Reddit late last month.

They give a variety of statistics about the trauma that an animal can go through in just a few minutes in a hot car.

The wristbands reads in part: "In just 15 minutes 90° = 144° inside of a parked car and possible brain damage" [sic]

Even with the windows cracked, dogs trapped in parked cars can overheat quickly.

Keep in mind that temperatures as low as 70° can be dangerous for a trapped animal.
