BREAKING: The Incredible Program For U.S. Soldiers You NEVER Knew Existed, But Should.

Four months ago, Lt. Charles Smith received orders that he'd be deployed abroad. With no family or relatives nearby, the young man was prepared to give up Peanut, his beloved golden retriever. One day before he left town, he called the Arizona Humane Society to see if they could place him in a good home. That's when the operator gave some amazing news. He learned there was an animal foster care program, Project Active Duty, made specifically for soldiers who were serving the country abroad. He wouldn't have to give away his dog!

While his master was away, the dog lived with his foster mom, Elizabeth Wells, and enjoyed walks, belly rubs and dog park outings.

Finally, when the soldier returned from duty, he was reunited with his beloved pet. The heartwarming moment was all caught on video, as Peanut greeted Smith and flopped on his back for a belly rub. It's so great knowing the dog was in great hands while Smith was bravely fighting for the country. These programs are such a great asset to our soldiers, giving them a chance to keep their beloved pets even while they're away.
