Buffalo Police were responding to a call when they noticed what they thought was a dead dog in the basement. But when Officer Jessica Coughlin arrived, all she saw was a ball of fur.
This was no fur ball — it was a living, breathing dog, so severely matted and neglected she was barely recognizable. But then, a miracle came true.
The amazing SPCA groomers gave the dog, now named Dori, a life-saving makeover that freed her from the weight of four pounds of matted fur. The veterinarians helped to treat her infections, and they also removed a piece of twine that was lodged into Dori's paw, shattering the bones inside.
Dori’s owners are being charged with one count each of animal cruelty. This courageous miracle pup will be rehabilitated to full health before finding her loving forever family.
