8500 People Do This EVERY Day, But No One Does It Like This 101-Year-Old!

Knowing what kind of weather to expect when we walk outside in the morning is something we all take for granted. Even if we don't tune in to the weather channel, a quick look at our smartphone will let us know what we need to prepare for. But who tells the people at the weather station? Someone like 101-year-old Richard Hendrickson, of course!

For 80 years, Richard has been diligently recording the weather and reporting it to National Weather Service from his backyard weather station in Bridge Hampton, NY. Every morning, he checks the rain level, temperature, and wind direction before calling it in on (my FAVORITE part) his rotary phone. Last weekend he was honored by the National Weather Service for his eight decades of service… but he isn't stopping yet!
