Can You Believe 1940s Women Did THIS To Their Bodies? I Have NO Words…

While it's no secret that women were the victims of unimaginable sexism in history, the following footage from the World War II era has left me completely speechless.

People have tried just about anything and everything to lose weight throughout history, but looking back, diet and exercise always seem to be the best bet…and the only thing to last through the ages!

Back in the 1940s, it was considered unfeminine for women to exercise. No manly man wanted to seem his dame sweat or get even the slightest muscle tone!

Times have definitely changed, and women today view working out in a completely different light, but it's still very interesting to look back and try to understand just what in the world people were thinking back then?!

Some ladies of the 1940s would turn to unconventional exercise machines to try their best against "the battle of the bulge." This jaw-dropping video gives us a peek at the past and proves just how far we've come.

What do you think of these insane muscle-rubbing machines? Does anyone remember anything like this growing up?
