Rooting around in thrift stores is a lot like gambling: you can either hit it big, or completely strike out. You just never know what you're going to get, which is really half the fun.
But when this young lady decided to stop in at "Twice As Nyce" in Richmond, VA, she definitely hit the jackpot — and now, her winnings are going viral!
Buried at the bottom of an old box — nearly lost forever to time — Meagan Abell was excited to dig out a sleeve of old photo negatives. However, it wasn't until she got home and scanned the old strips that she realized what exactly she had found.
Now, she's taken to the Internet in the hopes of solving this 60-year-old mystery and reuniting these beautiful photos with their rightful owners.

When Meagan Abell of Richmond, VA, stopped in at a local thrift shop, she had no idea that she would stumble upon a captivating mystery...

Buried at the bottom of a dusty old box, Meagan found a small plastic sleeve filled with old negatives. At first, she didn't think much of them.

But when she held the strips to the light, she was stunned. Instantly, she purchased the strips and ran home to scan. What she revealed was absolutely stunning.

Taken sometime in the 1940s or 1950s, the mysterious photographs were like something from a movie.

Rich, colorful, and almost poetic, Meagan knew there was something very special about these old photos.

Meagan wasted no time returning to the thrift shop to inquire about the photos — but the owner had no idea who dropped them off or when.

Unwilling to give up, Meagan turned to the Internet. She was determined to find out more about these haunting women.

She scanned and posted the photos to Facebook, explaining how and where she found them, and asking friends to help spread the word.

Almost instantly, people responded with great interest. From all across Virginia, people began to comment on and share the mysterious photos.

Some people thought they recognized the beautiful women. One young lady posted a photo in response and commented, "It almost looks like my grandmother... maybe just the hair."

Another woman wrote, "She is ALL of our grandmothers."

Now, the search is on to identify these lovely ladies, lost for years at the bottom of an old, dusty box.

"This just leaves me in awe," commented one woman. "I can't help but wonder what her life was like, what she was doing after or before these photos, where she lived…"

"Whoever shot them was in love with her," wrote another.
