11-Year-Old Boy Saves His Money To Surprise His Teachers With Dinner

As the school year finally comes to an end, many parents are thinking of ways to thank their children's teachers. These teachers have spent the past year educating and preparing your children, so you want them to feel appreciated.

While it's usually the parents behind any cute gifts children might give their teachers, there are times when it's all the student's idea. 11-year-old Cody Dortch wanted to let his teachers know just how much their hard work meant to him, so he devised a plan. Months before the school year even ended, Dortch put this plan into action.

Dortch started saving his money and doing extra chores around the house. For 10 months, he saved this money and eventually had $200. He decided to invite all of his teachers to dinner and surprised his teachers by paying for their meals. Dortch was inspired to do this thoughtful act by his father. His dad is a teacher and Dortch saw how dedicated he is to his students, so he wanted to show his teachers that he appreciated them.

It's selfless acts like these that make a teacher's job all worth it! It reminds me of the students who surprised a bride and groom on their wedding day with a flash mob dancing to "All You Need Is Love".

Don't forget to SHARE this little sweetheart with all of your friends and family!
