Living with chronic pain is one of the worst things that could happen to any of us. Sometimes, the flare-ups seem like they'll never go away, and even if things don't hurt as bad as usual, there's always that fear that the pain will come out of nowhere in full force.
For 85-year-old Anna Pesce, she didn't even have to worry about the pain coming back because it would never leave her. For decades, she had been dealing with the constant throbs caused by a herniated disc, scoliosis, and osteoporosis all rolled together.
Whenever she visited her children and grandchildren, she would eventually have to wait in a wheelchair and even had to be carried up and down the stairs.
Even with her hunched back, this woman somehow still had hope. She went to countless doctors, acupuncturists, chiropractors, and back specialists. But no matter what she did, things just kept getting worse and worse.
But then, Pesce decided she was going to give yoga a shot. At first, the difficult poses were painful, but eventually, she began to get more limber and stronger. Slowly but surely, she began to learn what poses could help combat what specific pains she was going through. And within a period of two months, Pesce went through a drastic transformation.
Able to stand tall once again, Pesce can see the world as it was meant to be seen. Thanks to the help of a special yoga instructor who specifically deals with people who suffer from chronic pain, Pesce has gained her independence back, and we couldn't be happier for her!
