2-Year-Old With Down Syndrome Recites His ABCs For Grandma

When 2-year-old John David Marin heard that his grandmother was coming to visit, he was excited to show off just how smart he really was!

You see, John was born with Down syndrome, and even though doctors said he would have trouble keeping up with other kids his age, that didn't mean that his mother, Hannah, would ever give up on her beautiful little boy.

She enrolled him early on in classes that would help his speech. And through sheer perseverance and strength of will, they never lost hope. Hannah didn't let other kids be the measure of her own son's success; he would make his own timeline, and he would reach those important milestones when he was good and ready.

Thankfully, Hannah was smart enough to record him hitting one of the most important milestones in a little toddler's life: learning your ABCs! It's taken a lot of work to get to this point, but when Grandma Pam came to visit one day, Hannah wanted to see if her baby was ready to go through the whole alphabet.

While he had a couple of adorable struggles on a few of the tougher letters, we have to say that he did a pretty amazing job.

John David shows us all that just because you might have Down syndrome, that doesn't mean you can't become a productive and important member of your community. To automatically assume that he's "disabled" is both cruelty to this darling little boy, and a disservice to all of society for teaching an individual that he might be worth less than his peers are.

John David brings huge amounts of joy to his whole family, and when you watch his adorable video, you'll see just why. Keep learning, John David, and keep making more videos of your milestones!
