House fires are one of the scariest things that can happen to a homeowner. Even worse, it can be tough to tell when an appliance has seen its last day. Luckily, one quick-thinking 4-year-old was quick to alert her dad when the same fryer that had previously cooked her chicken nuggets went up in flames.
While there's nothing quite that funny about a house fire, the video that was collected from the home's security cameras is pretty cute once you know that everyone got out OK. Here's what happened.
Upon seeing the fire, the 4-year-old, perfectly dressed in a tutu, noticed the flames. Based on kid logic, she felt like she might be to blame for the incident. "Oh no! Dad's going to kill me," she said to nobody in particular.
Her instincts were perfect. She quickly ran out, letting her dad know that something was amiss in the kitchen.
Luckily, her dad and stepmom took her seriously when she went to tell them. They admit that, as many 4-year-olds do, a lot of the stories that come from the girl are highly imaginative tall tales. This, however, was very real.
Her dad came onto the scene and tried hard to find a fire extinguisher. When none could be found, he realized that he had to extinguish the flaming fryer in the family's pool.
This video may seem a little scary to those who also have air fryers and electrical appliances hanging out in their kitchen. One of the best ways to prevent incidents is to make sure that all appliances are unplugged when they're not in use.
