Cancer is very scary. For adults, it can be one of the scariest words to ever hear. But for a child, they can only understand that everyone around them is afraid of the word, but don't really understand why themselves.
Children going through chemotherapy and radiation have to build up as much strength as possible to make it through. They are little fighters. The people around these sick children also have to muster up the courage to be brave, just like this mother who dressed up like a superhero to boost her sick son's spirits.
Jennifer deals with sick children on a daily basis for her job. Children who need radiation go to Jennifer for care. To help the children in her care feel better about their visits, Jennifer has come up with a wonderful project. She is making them masks based on things they like, such as superheroes like Batman or sagas like Star Wars.
The masks help keep the children's heads still during radiation treatment and they're much nicer to look at than the regular white ones. Each mask is made with each child in mind. She decorates each mask based off of the children's interests to make them as unique as each child.
You can see all of Jennifer's fabulous work in the video below! Her dedication to making these children feel strong during tough times is truly beautiful. You can see from the children's smiles that what she is doing makes a real difference in their lives.
