The best things in life are often unexpected. Wildlife photographer Bjorn Persson's latest collection of photos is no exception.
While shopping in a grocery store, a wildlife photographer on assignment saw an opportunity to capture the beautiful juxtaposition between the old world and the new: a gorgeous tribalwoman with her baby in tow browsing for deals on soap.
Bjorn Persson's photos of a woman from the Himba tribe in Opuwa, Namibia, have been shared nearly 6,000 times. The woman is going about her business, shopping in a grocery store – but it's her traditional tribal garb set against the modern backdrop that's making these photos so viral.
The woman of the Himba tribe always wear traditional garb, they don't simply put it on for tourists.
The woman is from the Himba tribe in Opuwo, Namibia. While the Himba tribe leads a very traditional "off-the-grid" lifestyle, they are often using modern conveniences of nearby cities in their traditional garb.

“To me the thrill of taking pictures isn’t about the actual photography,” Bjorn Persson wrote on his website. “It’s about the preparations, the journeys, the long hours and all the sweat and tears that ultimately go into a great image.”

The woman's young child dozed peacefully on her back as she browsed the aisles of the supermarket. These images were captured by Bjorn Persson, a Swedish wildlife photographer.
“She did not notice me at first, but after a while she realized what I was doing,” Persson told DailyMail.

Most of her traditional dress is made from goat, but people of the Himba tribe also apply mud to their skin and hair to protect them from the sun.

Another beautiful shot by photographer Bjorn Persson of a young boy with his goat.

While women of the Himba tribe often go completely topless, they do use modern conveniences like cell phones.

Persson's photos are going viral thanks to the intriguing juxtaposition between old and new.
