If you're a driver, then you probably know how unpleasant it is to have your car towed. Aside from having to go out of your way to pick the car up, you also have to pay a significant amount for it.
But one driver in Boston was lucky to have Police Sgt. Tim Gaughan by his side after his car got towed. The 68-year-old ran up to Sgt. Gaughan, begging him for help, and in turn received more than he'd hoped for.
"He was saying his car was missing. His wife was in the hospital. He started getting very emotional, almost crying, like ‘I don’t know how to get back to her,’” Sgt. Gaughan recalled to CBS Boston.
Like the cop in California who bought shoes for a teen in need, this Boston officer went above and beyond for the stranger. Sgt. Gaughan didn't only give the man a lift to the Transportation Department’s tow lot, he also paid for the man's fine. And the generosity didn't stop there, as you'll see in the video below.
When asked about his good deeds, Sgt. Gaughan simply told the news station, "It was the right thing to do. You do it, no questions asked."
