Boy Missing In Utah Wilderness Used Shocking Survival Skills To Stay Alive

It's every parent's worst nightmare.

You turn around and your child has vanished without a trace. If this were to happen, the best case scenario is somewhere like a mall or amusement park, where there are plenty of people around to help find authorities to track down their parents. The worst-case scenario? Pretty much where this little boy was lost: in the cold, dark woods.

Only that boy was kept warm by small puppies near his family's home. The 10-year-old in the following unbelievable story was completely alone, lost in the rugged, remote Oregon wilderness. Malachi was camping with his family in the Uinta National Forest when he decided to go searching for wild mushrooms to cook along with a fish he caught. Within moments, his father turned around and realized the boy was nowhere to be seen, sparking a 29-hour search for the boy.

It was like finding a needle in a haystack, but luckily Malachi Bradley had a big advantage over most kids. Malachi learned some pretty impressive survival skills from himself and managed to fish for food, make a fire and shelter from rocks to keep warm, and even use his jacket to filter water. Malachi was eventually tracked down by a k-9 unit and told his family surviving on his own was actually fun.

It's a true miracle that this boy survived the night. Please SHARE his amazing story with friends on Facebook to remind others to teach their kids basic survival skills.
