Dad Tells 2 Sad Sons They Have To Give Up Foster Dog, But They Have No Idea It’s A Trick

Adding a dog to the family can be a big step for anyone, whether you're single, a couple, or a family with kids. One shelter had a great idea for families who wanted to adopt their dogs — they let them try out, or foster, the pet for a few weeks to make sure it's a good fit.

Sometimes, dogs are returned to the shelter after just a short amount of time because they don't get along with the family or the family realizes they're not prepared to care for a pet.

This program takes the pressure off potential adopters, letting them bring home the dogs for a short amount of time before committing.

Two parents brought home a dog, Pepper, to their two young boys to see if it would be a good fit for the family. Just before the two trial weeks were up, the parents sat down their sons on the couch with Pepper to tell them some good news.

They were keeping Pepper! Pepper was such a great fit for the family that before the two weeks were even up, the parents contacted the shelter to let them know they wanted to keep Pepper.

When the parents talked to the boys, they initially looked worried, but when Dad broke the great news to them, they were so excited!

See their reactions in the video below.

This seems like the perfect family for Pepper, don't you think? Do you have a rescue dog? Let us know in the comments below, and please SHARE this article on Facebook!
