We all want to save money on our bills, right? During these cold winter months, when the temperature drops down to the single digits, heating bills can skyrocket as we pump up the heat to stay warm during those chilly nights.
What if I told you that you can lower your heating bill and still keep your house a bit warmer simply by using a clever life hack that calls for only bubble wrap and a little bit of water? That's exactly what the man in this video, Yongnam, demonstrates when he spritzes his windows with a little bit of water and pushes on a large sheet of bubble wrap.
On the YouTube page it says that he, "discovered a really efficient and cheap way to increase your home temperature by almost 10 degrees in the middle of the winter."
Seems almost too good to be true, doesn't it? Well, we're not sure if ten degrees is an accurate number, but placing bubble wrap on your windows in the winter absolutely will help your house stay a little warmer. It's a quick, inexpensive way to lower your heating bills in the winter.
If you've ever seen a swimming pool's solar cover, then you probably know that it's basically just a large sheet of bubble wrap, and the material has also been used as insulation on greenhouse windows as well. It might not keep you as warm as a space heater would, but bubble wrap is a much cheaper solution and one that looks like it's worth a try!
