26-Year-Old Mom About To Fight Cancer For The Second Time Gets Dramatic New Look After Haircut

A haircut can be many things — a change, a release, a rebellion.

For Kasey Kern, this haircut means so much more. This haircut is a way to stay strong.

Kern had ovarian cancer two years ago, when she was pregnant with her daughter. The mom beat the cancer after a hysterectomy. Now it has returned to another part of her body.

"I still wear my smile, but I still wake up 26 years old, battling my cancer to live," she says.

The haircut she receives in the video below at the Aura Boutique in Parkville, MO, is in preparation for the upcoming battle.

With her cancer returning, it means more chemo treatments that will remove hair from her head. Going shorter with her hair will prepare her for that, but it will do so much more.

The hair that is cut will be donated to Locks of Love, and Kern is treating her haircut like a gift to herself.

"I just want everyone to know, you keep going and you check your health. I want to truly embrace this experience and show my little girl that there is nothing that can stop you."

Kern enters the salon with shoulder-length waves, and by the end, she is transformed, sporting a style that barely passes her cheek.

She instantly embraces it.

The out-of-pocket cost for her chemo sessions is around $15,000. You can donate to contribute to these expenses by visiting her GoFundMe page.
