Jackson Pollack has nothing on creative canines…
Art is inarguably one of the most personal forms of expression, but who says only humans get to have all the fun? Here at LittleThings, we love seeing man's best friend express their creative sides, too, like the hysterical disco dancing dog does in this video. But when dogs "singing" or "dancing" is one thing — but what happens in this next video takes canines' artistic visions to a whole new level.
We've seen talented dogs like Leroy do a little "painting" before, but what Brazilian art project Canismo does in the following clip is definitely a first for me. According to their website, "Canismo is an artistic movement created by a group of dogs that aims to help with the support and adoption of sheltered animals."
Here's how it works: Different dogs are covered in a "paint" made from all-natural, edible ingredients like food coloring and corn starch. The dogs then shake the paint onto a canvas, which Canismo calls "a remarkable exercise of freedom, where each drop of ink bears the stain of prejudice." Canismo has an upcoming exhibition planned in May 2015, where all of the paintings done by the dogs will be sold and the dogs will be available for adoption.
See the incredibly moving video of how these paintings were created below and don't forget to let us know what you think in the comments!
