In a single hour a mother's heart went from broken to complete relief. A Los Angeles mom watched as two men and a woman stole her car with her baby girl inside.
“I ran after them. Like, 'My baby’s in the car just stop,'” she said.
The thieves did not listen. The LA County Sheriff's Department believes the security video shows two men and a woman taking the vehicle. Investigators say the woman stole the mother's car, while the two men followed behind in another blue car.
Authorities say the mother stepped out of her car for a moment and left the motor running when the criminals swooped in.
Police were about to issue an Amber Alert when an anonymous caller said they had discovered a car with a baby inside. The little girl was wrapped in a blanket.
A medical team examined the 3-month-old. Fortunately, she was totally unharmed.
“She’s fine, they checked her out, she’s asleep right now,” the mother said. “This is a baby. It could be any of you guys’ babies."
Still shaken from the experience, the mother held her little one tight. She and the police are hoping someone will come forward to identify the thieves.
