We all know that stealing is wrong. This was one of the first lessons we all learned as kids. However, this one grandmother didn't seem to play by the rules when she visited a jewelry store.
In this "What Would You Do" video posted on October 7, 2016, a granny named Catharine Peppers was browsing through jewelry, when her eyes brightened. She saw a vivid necklace that caught her attention. She soon tried it on and approached a nearby customer named Lemore.
"Your honest opinion, please tell me," Catherine asked Lenore.
"Beautiful," Lemore told Catherine with a smile.
"I'm just going to take this," Catherine explained to Lemore as she took the necklace off.
Jokingly, Lemore told Catherine, "Go for it."
Only, that's exactly what the grandmother did. She slivered the long necklace into her purse and began to walk out the front door of the shop. Lemore saw that the grandma was about to leave and called out, "Did you forget to pay for that?"
Lemore continued, telling her, "The necklace that you just tried on and asked me if I liked it, you just put it in your bag."
Catherine became more and more heated as her level of sass rose. "You're saying things, you don't even know what you're talking about, honey," Catherine responded. As she pushed open the door, Lemore pointed out that she was caught on camera and that she should put the necklace back before she got into trouble.
That was the moment that Catherine lost it. She told Lemore, "You should respect your elders, honey! I could be your great-grandmother!"
"I respect my elders, but not when they do the wrong thing," Lemore rebutted.
Luckily, Catherine was just an actress testing to see if complete strangers would stop a seemingly innocent grandmother from stealing. In the end, Lemore learned the significance of speaking up when something is wrong and so did viewers of the "What Would You Do" television show.
