Is there any Christmas gift more adorable than a puppy? Every Christmas I hope that there will be a package under the tree with an adorable new Boston terrier or pug puppy inside.
Recently, a Chihuahua was found inside of a Santa sack, but the reason why isn't quite so sweet.
The dog, Eragon, was discovered by a group of children at St. Mary's Church in Hertfordshire, England. He was inside a "Santa sack" that also contained treats, a jumper and a Christmas card.
The Christmas card explained that the dog's owner was going "into a home," and requested that a lovely home be found for Eragon. The owner was sorry and specified that Eragon needed his food to be cut into small pieces.
The dog was turned into the the local pet rescue organization, the RSPCA, who discovered a microchip implanted into the Chihuahua.
Using the microchip, they were miraculously able to find Eragon's original owner, Samantha Jones of London.
She had lost the dog several months ago when she took him on a walk. She thought he'd never see him again, but thanks to the microchip, the dog was returned—and just in time for Christmas!
The RSCPA says that Eragon was well cared for by his temporary owner, who must have been unable to properly care for the dog any longer.

Eragon somehow ended up 30 miles away from his original home in London. It's unclear how his second owner came upon the Chihuahua, but RSCPA workers do know she took good care of the little lost guy.

RSCPA workers were quickly able to return Eragon to his owner due to the microchip he'd had implanted in him.

A note accompanied Eragon when he was found. Clearly, the lady loved Eragon, but was no longer able to care for him in the way he needed.

Samantha Jones was grateful to the RSCPA who were able to return her beloved pet.
