When the twelve-person choir Revelation Avenue took the stage, the judges on Britain's Got Talent were skeptical. Earlier that day, they'd watched what Simon called "one of the worst choirs they'd ever seen," and they dreaded having to go through yet another terrible performance. You could practically see them mentally preparing to hit the buzzers when one of the choir members told them that they only rehearse at his house. But the moment they start singing Katy Perry's "Roar," everything changes. Their performance is so powerful that, by the end, I had tears in my eyes!
Revelation Avenue doesn't just have an amazing sound — its members also have an incredible connection that can be felt from the moment they take the stage. Just like this choir that has a blast singing in the pool at their hotel, these jaw-dropping singers are clearly like a second family to each other. Watching them as they cry and hug at the end of their performance definitely had me a bit choked up! They're not nearly as big as this 162-person choir that also succeeded in stunning the judges, but they prove that quality is far more important than quantity when it comes to talent this great.
Best of all, this group impressed the judges so much that they got the "Golden Buzzer," which sends them straight to the semifinals of the competition! It's such a rare opportunity, and there's no doubt that this incredible choir deserved it. I don't know about you, but I'm rooting for them to win the whole thing!
