Coca-Cola can be a refreshing beverage on a hot day, but did you know it’s also a good ingredient to cook with? Here at LittleThings, we're all about finding the most delicious recipes that incorporate an unusual twist on a classic dish. (For example, who would have ever thought pouring eggs on a pizza could be so delicious!)
Today, YouTube baker and LittleThings friend Tammy — aka YoYoMax12 — is whipping up a hearty, savory casserole that requires a can of Coke as one of the main ingredients. As she explains, the Coke brings out a tenderness in the beef and makes for a delicious sauce.
In this video, she takes us through how to make her "Coca-Cola Shipwreck Casserole." It's super easy and appears to be really tasty as well.
She begins by adding onions, ground beef, rice, celery, green bell peppers, potatoes, one can of kidney beans, and a can of tomato soup to a cooking pan. Then, she pours one can of Coca-Cola over the casserole, covers the pan with foil, and bakes it at 350 degrees for one hour. The end result is a delicious casserole that the whole family will enjoy!
I don't know about you, but I'm definitely trying this next time we have some Coke in the house.
